People Lead (m/f/d)
Merantix Momentum
Your role
We are looking for a People Lead to own and evolve our people function end-to-end. This is a generalist role with real scope: you will work closely with leadership and managers across the company, shaping how we hire, develop, retain, and support a high-performing team in a fast-growing AI consultancy.
You will be the go-to person for everything people-related, from building hiring pipelines and running performance cycles to designing culture initiatives and coaching managers. If you thrive in environments where you can take something solid and scale it, with real autonomy and visible impact, this role is for you.
These will be your main responsibilities:
Own end-to-end recruiting across multiple roles simultaneously, including sourcing, structured interviews, offers, and headcount planning with Manager Director;
Lead the strategy for the People Area, overseeing the execution carried out by the relevant people
Conduct salary benchmarking, analyse the hiring funnel, and report on recruitment KPIs;
Run full performance review cycles, including calibration sessions, compensation proposals, promotions, and bonus framework design;
Build and maintain competency frameworks and career progression structures;
Design and deliver manager training and coaching on performance, feedback, retention, and difficult conversations;
Create toolkits and templates; facilitate workshops at off-sites and company retreats;
Lead internal change projects from diagnosis through rollout and impact measurement;
Own onboarding and offboarding end-to-end;
Run wellbeing surveys and stay interviews, and translate findings into action;
Monitor turnover trends and develop targeted retention strategies;
Build and maintain a People Dashboard tracking key metrics;
Manage HR tooling, employee lifecycle administration, and people data integrity;
Ensure compliance with German labour law (GDPR) and handle sensitive cases with discretion;
Your profile
5+ years of experience in a generalist HR or People role, ideally in a startup or scale-up environment
Strong understanding of tech and AI roles (e.g. data, ML, engineering), with the ability to assess skills and build effective hiring and development frameworks for these profiles
Proactive in leveraging tools and automation (incl. AI) to scale People processes, improve efficiency, and drive data-informed decision-making
Demonstrated ability to independently manage the full spectrum of People & Culture functions (e.g. talent acquisition, performance, operations, and employee experience)
Experience running structured performance review processes, including calibration and salary cycles
Track record of building and iterating on HR processes from scratch rather than simply inheriting them
Familiarity with German labour law and compliance requirements.
Structured and data-driven: you track what matters, build dashboards, and use data to tell a story
Strong communicator: able to write clearly, present to C-level, and adapt your style for different audiences
Builder mentality: you enjoy creating new things and are comfortable navigating ambiguity
High empathy and strong people judgment: you build trust, understand individual needs, and create a supportive environment
Confident decision-making: you take ownership and make clear, timely decisions independently
Organised and reliable: when you own something, it gets done properly
Fluent in English (written and spoken), German is a plus
