We invest in companies building at the frontier of AI. We think a fund that does that should run on the same stack it funds, so we automate our own work instead of hiring more people to do it manually.

Today a lot of our operating layer is still hand-rolled: dealflow arrives by inbox and LinkedIn and gets triaged by humans, deal notes and call transcripts live in places nobody searches, LP and portfolio reporting is assembled by hand every quarter. Each of those is an automation problem, and nobody currently owns them.

That's the job. You will own building the internal systems that make this fund faster working directly with our partners, shipping to real users (us) from week one.

This is not a traditional VC internship. You will not be building comp tables.

What you will have shipped

  • An automated dealflow triage layer: inbound opportunities enriched, screened against our thesis, and routed into our CRM without a human doing the first pass.

  • A working internal knowledge system: our meeting transcripts, deal notes and memos actually searchable and queryable by the team.

  • A team of internal agents in daily use by the investment team, in investor relations, dealflow evaluation, portfolio support, or reporting.

  • A documented view of where our operating layer goes next: what you'd build with another six months, and what other leading funds are already doing that we aren't.

We'll agree the specific list with you in week one. What's fixed is the bar: things that get used, not prototypes that get demoed once.

  • You own what you do and you are comfortable driving this effort.

  • You build things that work. Python, APIs, LLM/agent frameworks, and whatever glue gets it done including no-code where that's the right call.

  • You ship end-to-end and unsupervised. Nobody will hand you a spec; you'll find the bottleneck, propose the fix, and build it.

  • You care whether it's still running next month. Hacky is fine; unmaintainable is not.

  • You can talk to non-engineers about their own workflows, and get a busy investor to actually adopt what you built.

  • You're available for at least 3 months, ideally 6, onsite in Berlin, and you can work in English.

Helps, but we'll teach you: experience with CRM or reporting infrastructure (we use Attio); prior startup, VC or founder experience; a background in Computer Science or Engineering.

You don't need any prior finance or VC experience. If you've automated your way out of a job before, that's the signal we're looking for.

Our hierarchy is flat and communication direct, which means that we operate and learn fast, as a team. Our team and work environment can be described as follows:

  • We have an entrepreneurial mindset: we are creative, focused, ambitious, and not easily discouraged;

  • We work in a fast-paced, highly innovative environment where ambiguity is the norm;

  • We work independently but have a cooperative mindset;

  • We love what we do and we own it.

In addition to a competitive salary, you can expect the following:

  • Real ownership of a workstream that a partner cares about, and daily contact with the people running the fund.

  • A front-row seat to European AI dealflow - the companies, the founders, and the technology.

  • The Merantix ecosystem: AI Campus Berlin, Merantix Momentum, the London AI Hub, AI House Davos, and a network of founders, AI researchers and industry partners.

  • A competitive salary, flexible hours, and a flat structure where you talk directly to whoever can unblock you.

  • Regular team events as well as fun team colleagues
