About this position

We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Lead to join our team at GLS/NXT. In this role, you will be instrumental in scaling our state-of-the-art Out-of-Home (OOH) Platform, designed for both private and business customers across Europe. This product has the potential to significantly impact the daily lives of millions. You will lead a cross-functional engineering team and, as an early member of our team, have the unique opportunity to shape our technology stack and processes while making significant contributions to our projects. Prerequisite

For this position, relocation to Germany/visa support is not provided, thus only applicants that already have a valid work permit in Germany are encouraged to apply.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers to deliver high-quality products and services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and operations.
• Act as a technical advisor and mentor to the engineering team.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
• Ensure the team follows best practices and that the code is maintainable, scalable, and secure.
• Manage and prioritize the team's workload and resources to ensure on-time delivery of projects.
• Participate in recruitment, selection, and retention of team members.

What you need to be successful

Background

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent working experience.
• Proven experience as an Engineering Lead or similar engineering role.
• Strong technical skills and experience with software development, including modern programming languages, frameworks, and testing suites.
• Deep knowledge of distributed software platforms.
• More than 7 years of experience working as an IC (Individual Contributor) in Backend, DevOps, or similar roles.
• Experience with modern Frontend and Mobile systems is a plus.

• Proficient in establishing and managing software development operations (CI/CD) and agile methodologies.
• Thrive in fast-moving and agile environments.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage projects, and allocate time according to business objectives.
• Proficient in English.
