Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Manager with strong expertise in German GAAP (HGB) and VAT. This role will be responsible for leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, as well as improving and formalizing the month-end closing process to ensure greater efficiency and reduced dependency on individuals. You will also collaborate with the Controlling team to enhance our cost center structure, while supporting the daily finance operations and responding to requests from internal departments.

Your Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB).

• Assist in managing group accounting, with a focus on less complex group structures.

• Ensure accurate VAT reporting and compliance with all relevant regulations.

• Formalize and streamline the month-end closing process to make it more efficient and less reliant on individual team members.

• Work closely with the Controlling team to further develop and refine the company's cost center structure for more accurate financial tracking and reporting.

• Support the team with day-to-day finance tasks, responding to internal department and customer requests.

Your Profile:

• Bilanzbuchhalter or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of experience in Accounting/Controlling

• Strong knowledge of HGB, with experience in managing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.

• Familiarity with VAT regulations and reporting requirements.

• Understanding of group accounting practices, with the ability to assist in consolidating financials for smaller group structures.

• Effective communicator, able to collaborate with various departments to meet their financial needs.

• Able to identify opportunities for improvement, especially in financial processes, and use accounting data to inform management decisions.

• Fluency in both English and German
